Twin Butte - What a Hoot!

A little description of our trip to Twin Butte May 1, 2010 for the 'Last Calf Cabaret'.

Well, deep subject, the quartet of The Bow Djangos - featuring the 'Baron', Sir Tristan Troubador, Kindly King CCCC and CounTess B. timorously toddled down towards Twin Butte, where we were treated to a warm welcome, great hospitality, a celebratory atmosphere and an evening of vibrant energy! Twin Butte's a great little gem of a community where the people know how to live and have fun - and dance ! The Last Calf Cabaret took place in the community hall, a huge wooden barn of a building that gobbled up all the sound we could muster. Sand was scattered on the floor, and the night was danced away - in between tricycle races and raffle draws, of course. Midnight supper was homemade, ample, and as delicious as the fare at the Mexican restaurant in the general store, nestled neatly between two buttes that were just breaking out in their green spring attire. The restaurant was packed to the rafters from the time we arrived about 4:00pm till we left to go get dressed for the party. No wonder - the food cannot be beat! Anyone in the vicinity of Pincher Creek or Waterton Park would be a fool to miss out on a visit to this charming little hamlet. At about two o'clock, we tucked into a much deserved rest at Lucy's cozy, clean guest house (B&B). So sorry to have had to leave early in the morning, we reluctantly departed this lovely bucolic setting, bidding a fond farewell to the beautiful region, with it's expansive sky, pristine mountains, calf-littered fields, and great people. Thank you to Twin Butte - beautiful!
